Quub launches in public beta
Quub is a web-based, desktop (coming soon), and mobile (available on Android and BlackBerry) tool for people who want to update their status across multiple social networks. With Quub, users can add their Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tumblr, Plurk, Plaxo, Hi5, and MySpace accounts for simultaneous status updates.

Ubuntu 9.04 released today
Ubuntu is a free operating system that can be used on desktop PCs, notebooks, work/business PCs as well as other devices that support either the x86 CPU or ARM CPUs. It is a version of Linux that includes a graphical desktop.

LEGO Rock Band announced
Though it has been long-rumored, LEGO announced today that they will release LEGO Rock Band later this year. According to LEGO, Rock Band "will allow families, tweens and teens to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can 'Build a Band and Rock the Universe.'" The game will be available for the 360, PS3, Wii, and the Nintendo.

Fox News and MySpace launch uReport
Fox’s citizen journalism social media platform, uReport, is now available on MySpace. Once logged in, users can submit photos and videos to uReport, with the potential for submissions being shown on-air in Fox News programming. Users are also able to “friend” various Fox News personalities like Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity

Tweetie for Mac launches
Atebits has just released Tweetie For Mac, the highly anticipated desktop version of the popular Twitter iPhone app Tweetie. Tweetie for the Mac presents a compact window for reading tweets, replies and mentions, direct messages, and searching the entire Twitterverse.

Community website SocialYell launched
People interested in discussing, promoting and discovering ‘good’ organizations (meaning companies that are “socially responsible, environmentally progressive and globally aware”) can log on to SocialYell.com. The website launched in beta today and is similar to Digg and Yelp.

Digg launches the new "DiggBar"
Announced today, DiggBar allows you to Digg directly on the destination site, create a shortened Digg URL to share on Twitter, Facebook or via email, access additional analytics, view comments while on the story page and discover related stories and random stories.
